Privacy Policy

Your family's privacy comes first

Effective date: August 24, 2026 · SpellyBee is developed by Barlow Prester, Inc.

Short version: SpellyBee is made for kids. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. There are no ads, no third‑party trackers, and no account to create.

Information we do not collect

SpellyBee has no login and no user accounts. We do not collect names, emails, contacts, location, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. We do not use third‑party advertising or analytics SDKs.

Data stored on your device and in your iCloud

The child's play data — a nickname/avatar you choose, learning progress, streaks, coins, and word lists — is stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled on the device, this data is synced privately to your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so progress follows the child across their devices. This information stays within your Apple account; Barlow Prester has no access to it and never receives it.

Microphone & speech recognition

Some exercises let the child spell words out loud. When you allow it, the microphone audio is converted to text using Apple's Speech Recognition so the app can check the answer. We do not record, store, or send this audio to our servers. Audio handled by Apple is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. You can revoke microphone and speech permission at any time in the device Settings.

Subscriptions

SpellyBee offers an optional Premium subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings.

Children's privacy

SpellyBee is designed for children to use with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because no personal data is collected by us and no third parties receive data, there is nothing for us to sell or share.

Apple services we rely on

SpellyBee uses Apple's iCloud/CloudKit (private sync), StoreKit (subscriptions), and Speech Recognition. These are provided by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
